attachment parenting?
Posted on 13. Jul, 2010 by Young Parents Guide.
I don’t raise my son under any particular parenting style. His daddy works alot and so I’ve found that most of the parenting is done by me. We co-sleep, I wear him in a sling, breastfeed and most nights we bathe together. I was wondering… What exactlty is the philosophy behind attachment parenting? Am I an attached parent?

Where can I buy baby memory foam pillow-mitten?
Posted on 22. Jun, 2010 by Young Parents Guide.
I heard about memory foam mittens you can wear to put baby to sleep. After you put baby in a crib you can remove your hands from the mittens, and the baby won’t wake up, because these mittens stay in the same shape and hold the baby. If you know about this product, please send me its name or the link! Thank you!

What is a good sleep/nap schedule for an 8 month-old baby? How many hours of sleep is good for this age?
Posted on 13. May, 2010 by Young Parents Guide.
My baby sleeps from 7 p.m. – 6 or 6:30 a.m. uninterrupted. Her daytime sleep is what is NOT going well. She looks so tired all the time and is very cranky by the end of the day. Sometimes it affects her night sleep when she can’t nap well during the day. My husband and mother-in-law are the the care providers for the morning while I am at work. I tried to come up with a general schedule that seemed to work on weekends and whenever I’ve been home for long weekends or vacations…naps at 9 or 9:30 a.m. (for an hour) and 1:00 or 1:30 (for an hour and a half or two hours). My mother-in-law doesn’t believe in baby routines or schedules and puts her down when she thinks it’s time and doesn’t allow for wind down time. The nap schedule has been all over the place. She also picks her up at the first sign of movement or wakefulness. I’m not sure if the inconsistency is hurting her naps or if it’s a bad schedule or both. I need help figuring out what’s appropriate for this age

Why wont my baby sleep during the day?
Posted on 11. May, 2010 by Young Parents Guide.
I have a 4 months old and he sleeps 9-10 hours every night, which is fantastic, but he wont take more then a 30 minute nap from 2pm-8pm. I give him a bath at 6:30pm and put him down at 7:00pm. It takes about an hour or less for him to fall asleep. I do let him cry for 10 minutes and check on him until he is asleep. I just started feeding him cereal during the day. I have tried a swing, rocking him,I have music playing for him, ect. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know he is tired so I am NOT trying to get him to sleep when he isn’t even tired, I thought about that myself, but I shows me ALL the signs he just wont sleep, and I can’t get anything done and it’s not pleasant to have a mad baby from 6:30-8pm everynight. PLEASE HELP!

Posted on 11. May, 2010 by Young Parents Guide.
My son is 4 months old. He still gets up for a bottle at least 2 times in the night. Is this ok, or should I do something to help him not get up to eat in the night? What do ya’ll do with your baby? What can I do to get him to not wake up for a feeding? When did your baby sleep through the night continuously?

On average how long should a 3 month old baby sleep during the day?
Posted on 10. May, 2010 by Young Parents Guide.
My once predictable baby is throwing me for a loop. He, just last week would eat every 4 hours and sleep for at least 2 hours inbetween every feeding. Today and yesterday however, he has only had 3 or 4 20 minute naps! He was also sleeping through the night last week. Not the case this week. Help.

We have been using ambesol (sp?) gel and baby Tylenol but he is still extremely fussy and doesn’t sleep more than 2 hours at a stretch. He used to sleep from 7pm to 6am. Thank you.
