How do I get my stubborn 2 year old to potty train?

I have exerted all the steps I have read in Parenting magazines. I have tried incentives, I have tried videos, I have even tried a Spongebob Toilet Seat (the kid loves spongebob) and I still can’t get him to go. I have backed off for a week or two, and he still won’t go, he’ll lie about when he does go, and he’ll cry when he has to go. He is two and a half years old, and I really want him to be potty trained. Sometimes, at random points in the day, he will tell me when he has to go, but he may have already gone, or he’ll never do it again that day. He always tells me when he wakes up. Any suggestions?

When I was pregnant with my son (about 2 years ago) I saw an ad in the back of one of my parenting magazines for these really cute interlocking sterling silver rings that you can have personalized with your kids names on them. I have seen it since, but can’t remember the web address and I can’t find it with a search…Now that I am pregnant again, I’d like to look in to getting one for myself, but I can’t remember the URL. Anyone remember seeing the rings I’m talking about and the web address??? Thanks for your help!!

Are there parenting magazines for REAL people?

It seems like all these parenting magazines make assumptions about their readers . 1) That they are married- Lots of people are single parents by choice , by circumstance , or by divorce. 2) That people who have children are older in their 30′s – Lots of people have children in their early , mid and late 20′s. 3) That all of the people who have children make boo coo bucks – Here’s an example taken out of Baby Talk magazine October 2006 pg. 55 -

Who wounld even consider that ? The average person makes a little over ,000 per year.
Why don’t they write things for normal , everyday people ?
Maybe more than ,000 per year. But you’re missing the point. why don’t they just showcase things that are more affordable off the bat so that people can go out and purchase them? Besides if they are advertising for their sponsers , you can sell more things that are cheap faster than you can sell things that are more expensive.
