Homelessness in Central Florida – Salvation Army Orlando
Posted on 15. Jul, 2011 by Young Parents Guide.
The number of homeless women and children is increasing at an alarming rate in Central Florida. The Salvation Army said because there’s a limit to the number of beds allowed for the homeless, they’re running out of room. Maj. Andrew Kelly said what’s more, the Salvation Army is also running out of money. In fact, they’re facing a 60 percent cut in government funding. So who would be impacted? Mrs. Matsen and her co-founders were just individuals, but they had a vision and a shared commitment to follow through on it. This video explores that history, as well as the present day essential services of Friends of Youth, as they celebrate 60 years. Find out more at www.friendsofyouth.org
