I’ve been looking into buying some California Baby Products. It seems like their ingredients are more natural and better for baby. Has anyone tried these products, and if so what do you suggest?

Homemade baby products– baby food– website links appreciated!?

I am about 4 months pregnant, and am looking for a website that has recipes for homemade baby products- shampoo, diaper rash cream, moisturizer, that sort of thing. Also want a website that has recipes and tips for making your own baby food and freezing or storing it. I want to do things as naturally and simply as possible with this baby, and not rely so much on store bought products.
We live rural, which makes it harder to get products in the first place.
So, any TIPS,, ADVICE, or WEBSITES with the sort of info I am looking for would be appreciated!
PS- I’m not totally stuck on the organic issue, but want to have this baby enjoy a natural, simple state of life, not overburdened with Huggies and Pampers and other brand name products. Thanks!

Which baby swing should we buy?

Our baby is five weeks old now, and I’ve decided I desperately need to be able to put him down for a while and get some housework done! I’m thinking of buying a baby swing, but I’m having trouble deciding which one to get. I’m stuck between the papasan cradle style swings (which are great for small babies, but will probably be outgrown by the time my son is 5 months old) or the more traditional style swings (which would last until the baby is almost a year old, but aren’t quite as comfortable for napping newborns).
Which baby swing did you use? What features were the most important for your baby? What would you recommend?

Campaign for young parents?

Are there many or any campaigns to help young parents ?(single mum, dad, or patners)
I would like to start a campaign to help young parents.
-providing information/classes
-donating baby products/clothes to those in need
so i’d need donations either of money to buy baby products/clothes, or have people donate them.
And have group meetings every now and then to see how they are going, and also provide information to parents and parents to be.
i dont know if something like this exists, all i know of is young mothers group.
is this a good idea?
i just want to know your opinions so be honest.

What baby necessaries i should buy in the USA?

Hi;
I am 6 weeks pregnant. We are living in Switzerland and Turkey and we are going to travel to LA.
Usually the products you can find in Europe and the USA are quite different. Since it is my first pregnancy I have no idea what should I buy from States. We will be going for app.1-2 weeks in May and I want to buy all possible baby products that are necessary/original and probably the ones that I can not find in Europe.
Could mummy’s suggest me what is a must, what would be the most original and essential thing to buy for newborns ?
Of course you don’t have to think what is in Europe and what is not, it will be perfect if you just write me the products you are using and happy with it. It could be any thing.

how to childproof the fireplace hearth.?

I have an 8 month old that’s getting around pretty good, the issue we have a fireplace with a hearth. The hearth is all brick with sharp corners. I’m afraid it’s only a matter of time before he busts his face on it, but am not sure how to make it safe. What is the cheapest way to do this, and still make it safe? I dont want to buy baby products that are expensive if I can find a way to do it myself.
