Arrested Development playing People Everyday live at Herbert Von King Park in New York City on July 19 2007. Arrested Development speaks thru music to the world. Speech one of the vocalist for this collective says, Our people have been through so much turmoil and strife for hundreds of years now. We get on stage every night with the mission to broaden the perspectives and give inspiration to rise above the stereotypes and materialism.” Unsurprisingly, then, the Grammy award winning group Arrested Development has been devoted to nudging folks in the direction of freedom and spiritual evolution for over 15 years. The group describes their sound as “Life Music.” AD respects women, and promotes family, spirituality and “male responsibility.” They are about consciousness, the earth, African self determination and love. They define themselves as hip-hop artists but also just artists.” They are dancers, vocalists, turntablist, drummers, and everything in between. Arrested Development is and has always been a communal music community with any number of talented members on board, picture your family reunion but more musical. Speech may be the most known member of the group, being the front man, but Dionne Farris, Eshe (Black Life), Rasa Don (Raz), Baba Oje (the elder), Nicha and many others have contributed much to this Kalidescope of image and sound. ADs debut album 3 years, 5 months and 2 days in the life of…(EMI) referred to the amount of time passed between the start of the

Although No prior instances of misconduct were discovered by the news, I would love to describe the one instance of misconduct I witnessed personally. I have yet to discuss this to the public, but now with witness corroboration coming I am going to post my testimony. Last summer I was present during a search of a mans car. I witnessed it from approx 20 feet away. The man , Darrel G’Sell Sr. was traveling from St Louis to drop his 2 young children off at their mothers residence in Wahpeton ND. Hill was there upon arrival and conducted a traffic stop directly in front of the driveway, searching the mans car in the middle of the night in front of his two small children only to find nothing. The man was stopped in front of a family residence after parking, Hill claimed to detect the odor of Marijuana ..but found none. The police report should be available for public record, many other residents have asked for my help in covering a story on his misconduct. This was the first day of filming the story, I attempted to get his side…when I was immediately arrested. thanks to www.youtube.com for this video

www.arresteddevelopmentmusic.com is one place you can go if you want to order AD’s new album “Since The Last Time” which is their FIRST IN THE US SINCE 1994!!! it came out in December of 2007 and their video for the lead single “Miracles” was featured on channel 330 on Directv, BETJ’s show “Soul Sessions.” This is a lesser known song off of the band’s debut album “3 Years, 5 Months And 2 Days In The Life Of…” which got it’s name from the exact length of time it took for their record deal to go through. The album was released to warm critical acclaim, selling 5 million copies and receiving heavy airplay with three singles, the infectious, spiritual song about going back to a simpler time, “Tennessee,” the song that was meant to make people realize derelicts are people too, “Mr. Wendal,” and AD’s cover of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Everyday People,” “People Everyday.” After their debut, AD released “Zingalamaduni.” The album was released to a luke-warm reception and the band broke up two years later without releasing a follow up until they reunited in 2000 without their DJ, Headliner. Since the break up, AD has released 4 albums and their lead vocalist, Speech, has released 2 solo efforts. They continued to record in Europe and Asia and decided to return to the US in December of 2007. This track, although not as well known as many of the other tracks on AD’s debut, is one of hip hop’s most conceptual songs with one of the most heavy and melodic uses of record scratching

Found this on an old VHS tape. I am one of the people sitting at the table in the bar. Great song from 1996. He performed a concert for our company in NYC some time later to promote Hoopla and played much longer than expected. Speech and his whole band were professional and all around nice people, it was a pleasure meeting him on a couple of occasions. Speech was out on EMI records at the time.
