Halfway Home – A story of single parents
Posted on 02. Sep, 2010 by Eve.
I think the title speaks for itself, but more details… it was filmed and edited for broadcasting on late BBC TV, eg there 10pm short movies. Majority of the project was put together by students and I was left with A LOT of footage to edit and make something of. I really enjoyed this small project, due to it being so difficult. Not the footage or even the subject, but more the quality. I’m hugely fussy on quality and both the visual and 90% of the audio was no usable. I spent most of the time, once edited, cleaning up the visual (sadly only in 4:3) and the audio which was so filled with noise and over-saturate ambience. Was the first time I had really put effort in and where it shows… the lady being interviewed by Lowell within a studio, could only just be heard and had more studio noise and (strange) but traffic noise from outside! Lowell’s voice was clear and loud, but the balance made it very off and distorted a lot of the times, so really had to work on that a lot. The only other part was edits were cut short and cause scenes to change to dramatically. Again, I think I did my best with what we had, but took SO long!!! You live and learn, just a shame we all don’t live forever. Time is everything!

Posted on 01. Sep, 2010 by Eve.
Hi there. I was wondering if anyone gets Parents or Parenting Magazine. If you do, there is a 20% off coupon for diapers on Amazon in the August and September issues. I’d love the coupon if you are not using yours so I can stock up on diapers for my daughter and my sister that is due in October. You can email me the codes (located on an orangish/yellow insert card, usually between pages 40-50). My email is cmreich@yahoo.com. Thanks.
