    23,000 dolphins are being slaughtered by the japanese! Their meat is being sold to the japanese people without them even knowing it! The pretty dolphins are sold to places like seaworld for 150,000 dollars. Studies have shown that there are dangerously high levels of mercury in dolphin meat and it is a health hazard. If you love dolphins as much as I do, please watch this documentary called THE COVE. . . you will be surprised with what is really going on in the dolphin industry :-(

    From what i learned, those ‘tricks’ are a big stress on the dolphins.

    They aren’t meant to be captive, much less do tricks.

    The trouble with research of a sentient species is that keeping them in prison changes them dramatically, rendering the research useless.

    I actually feel quite sad watching this…

    Yes they are.

    Dolphins are intelligent enough to form kidnapper bonds, which can be enough to drive them to do things even without the prospect of loosing out on a meal. Though 100% of the time food will be used as a drive to make prisoners do something anyway.

    I feel so sorry for these lovely intelligent creatures, they should be free and wild. Not doing these tricks to entertain human…

    @leeham991 i feel its better than having them at an aquarium like seaworld or something, the researchers probably dont torture them and starve them.

    No of course not.

    No dolphin worker intentionally harms the inmates, it’s the generic conditions of being out of society, out of suitable living and out of freedom that does the major damage.

    Please watch the 2009 movie ” The Cove” if you have not already, Japan is killing about 20,000 dolphins and whales every year!! This is horrible!

    @OrcaineKode

    It’s not right to generalize what a very small number of people do to an entire race.
